There are many better choices in my view; the 3100 has the drawbacks of a touchscreen without fully getting the benefits of one. Read the user reviews here, and Daniel Tonk's reviews under the main review tab.
In the same ballpark price range, I would recommend instead the Harmony 676 or 680, or the Universal Remote Control/Home Theater Master MX-500, MX-700, URC-200, or MX-350.
