I am an NAD dealer in New York. The HTR-2 is an awesome universal learning remote, that works well, & has a sugested retail of about $99.00. The pin config in the battery compartment is for hooking up the remote to a PC so that you can save the memory of the the codes learned by the HTR-2 which are learned via head to head learning. The cable and matching software are provided to dealers at NO charge from NAD reps. After we teach this remote (head to head) we down load the config to our PC & keep it on file just in case the customer's HTR-2 has a problem and we need to up load the file to a replacement remote
