If you do a forum search, you'll find several instances of a 6000 or Marantz 9200 getting hot to the touch. I've seen one that got hot enough to warp the plastic battery cover, and Daniel himself reported it happening to him as well. I've never read of a case where this overheating caused damage, and in all cases the remote operated normally after the incident. I guess what I'm saying is that this has been known to happen VERY occasionally, and if it isn't a constant thing, probably isn't the source of your other problems.
