Reviving an old thread here. My RU970 docking station died on me, in the same way as described by others - no lights are showing. I got as far as opening the unit and took it to my local Maplins to see if they could advise what bits might need replaced, but they were less than helpful. I said I'd read online that the problem might be the little thing in the top left, but he utterly dismissed this and frankly I lacked the knowledge to argue the point.

Can anyone offer any useful tips on the most likely scenario? I'll find an electrical repair shop and see if they can help, but I'd like to show up looking not so clueless as I was at Maplins.

Is there any other option I could use to power the RU970 and bypass the docking station?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
