Thanks bookaroni, the use of the Silicon Optics Reon chip really makes it a winner. Like you said Denon uses Silicon Optics, not the Reon but the higher end Realta T2 chips in their top end (5901ci, 3901ci & 2930ci) DVD players after finally realizing the macro blocking issues that abounded with the Faroudja DVDi chips.
To be fair to the Blu-Ray camp, the Samsung BDP-1200 also uses the Reon chip, has HDMI v.1.3, and also supports video at 24 fps. I know this isn't a big deal as most displays (w/o external processors) can't handle 24 fps, but it' still worth mentioning.
