Got some new info about Pioneer Elite frequency codes. Yesterday, Pioneer customer support gave the 1.4 mHz number. This morning, Pioneer technical support said it's 40 kHz. The tech person said for the year 1997 Pioneer Elite used a high frequency (this tech gal didn't know the exact number), but subsequently 40 Khz is used. I don't know who to believe, but you'd think tech people would probably be more tuned in.

I do know this, however, Pronto will not respond to the Elite codes. No problem with my other remotes: Lexicon DC-1 processor/preamp, Pioneer 909 combi DVD/laser player, Ad-Com amplifiers and tuner, Rotel CD player, and Mitsubishi Super VHS VCR.

I don't know if the problem is exclusive to Elite 16x9 projection monitors.
