There was a news article = This is the last year that Best Buy is going to carry physical discs. Starting in 2024, they will no longer be selling CD, DVD, Bluray, or UHD Bluray discs.
It is probably not long before we see the rest of the major retailers (that are still selling physical media) do this.

3 things:
1) Streaming has not gotten to the point of replacing the quality of physical media yet. This is especially true for customers that don't have access to fast enough internet.
2) You are at the whim of whatever is being provided to you. There has been 3x in the last month I thought of an old movie or TV show I wanted to watch and it was not available on ANY streaming platform (and I don't own it on disc).
3) Prices keep going up and you have to pay if you want to watch.

It is very sad that the whole "You will own nothing" movement is rolling right along, because the vast majority of the population just doesn't care. This is why we can't have nice things anymore.
