So for clients that don't want google listening to them day and night, ....

That is hilarious!
They are worried about Google?!?!

But they will put in Ring which is known to allow 3rd parties to just listen & watch any device a consumer has, anytime they want. And is constantly getting hacked because of those easy access ports.
It was just a few months ago we had the news article about nefarious individuals, calling in swatting on people's homes. When the police showed up, they were yelling at the police thru the Ring video doorbells they hacked, trying to get people hurt inside. Fortunately none of those incidents resulted in people getting hurt but that isn't always the case.
I like the one recently where an Amazon delivery driver misheard an automated message from a Ring video doorbell. Thought it said racial slurs at him (how you can misunderstand that, I have no idea). Anyway, the guy had a house full of Ring and other Amazon products, the company took them all offline. The misunderstanding was cleared up a week later and service restored but man.... how is that NOT illegal as f^. For a company to just reach in and shut your whole house down.
And there are tons of articles about this crap every year with them.

It's bad enough that everything is collecting our data constantly. But Amazon is just WAY over the top.
