I clients QN85Q900 8K TV seems to have stopped accepting IR commands.
Have a URC Total Control that's been working fine for a year+, then stopped. I checked with my camera and can see IR signals. Swapped emitter as well, still nothing.
Unplugged the TV for five minutes, no change.
The TV's remote is the new "RF" type, but I believe it sends IR for power and possibly starting the pairing process (correct me if I'm wrong). It can turn on/ off another Samsung TV (in another room) fine.
I tried "re pairing" the remote to the TV and it doesn't connect (though it did work prior before trying to "re pair". So, now the only way I can turn it on it the small button on the bottom of the TV.
I connected a USB keyboard the the TV and was now able to factory reset the TV, still nothing.
Someone else here (on my original post about this) mentioned they had "a few IR boards go bad" over the years.....
I can possibly set it up for ip only.......
The damn thing is out of warranty so I need to find a reliable repair shop for it. At least talk and see what the options are.
