In general I’m grumpy about the modular power supplies provided by networking and extender manufacturers. I suppose that the company’s purchase agent became a hero by sourcing the cheapest possible supply. I travel with a voltmeter and some replacement power supplies. An early diagnostic step is to measure the supply’s voltage. Quite often the problem is easily solvable at this point.
Sometimes I wish that there were power supply strips, similar to multi-outlet strips, that could replace a gaggle of modular supplies. This would certainly lead to neater looking installations. Yes we’d need to work out a scheme to keep track of which end unit needs which voltage, but this cannot be any worse than keeping track of which modulator supply belongs to which unit.
