Can the built-in IR LED still be used for just the TV set, everything else on the extender?

This way when I'm in the basement, that TV will see IR codes while the upstairs TV won't...and vise versa. I don't have "IR Buds" on the TV sets for this very reason.

All other equipment is located has IR Buds that all plug into the same wired IR amp. The only AV equipment in the basement that has IR control is the basement TV set.

I am working my way thru the manuals.
