My guess is you will be waiting a long time.
Sony won't use the VC-1 codec as they would have to pay to use it. And the HD-DVD group won't be making a dual player anytime soon as they would have to pay Sony.
Bottom line for me is I can play my standard DVD's on a Toshiba. Will a BD player do that?
