They need to use S2, or it won't work. I got a call about this from a husband and he said his wife was having a 'girls weekend' with some friends and that I should call her. She said that some of the Sonos were missing and when she mentioned the notification, I told her to download S2, which I had to do when I was there the last time, but I thought they might have done it after I sent a message to do that. It worked immediately.
