I agree. I think the issue is that he has not updated the surveillance software since we installed it 5 years ago. I do not even think they had a dedicated app back then so he is used to using the web browser interface which is probably archaic by today's standards.

I am going to go over and update the Synology and get him hooked up on the app and desktop software and show him what's new and I think he will likely stick with that solution. Cameras are fine for what he needs. His buddy talked him into the Synology and he works for WD and provided the hard drives so it's not a product we sold him. But I am hoping to start using it more.
