I'm using a 12volt switch to operate the linear actuator in the car.

Works like the parking brake on the brides Ford Fusion. A momentary switch powers on the actuator, and the onboard actuator stops limit travel.

One tap and it opens, one tap and it closes.

I suppose there would be a way to control the switch with some sort of IR or IP relay rather than a hidden switch though, but I am not at that level of figuring things out.

P.S. I just happen to have the guts from an old SnapAV cabinet lift. It works well.
