As Impaqt says. One thing that will work, but that I really dislike, is an emitter on the front of a TV. It's not hard to keep that from spitting IR all over the place, but it looks ugly.
And that's the reason I and at least one other suggested installing the emitters inside- I mentioned naked emitters and you would never see these unless to were very close and knew where they were located.
