We have a customer/friend who is really hanging on to DirecTV, tons of TV's, several generations of boxes. All in all it's a big cluster. He's not a fan of the idea of streaming or waiting for the new ATT TV thing with the IP boxes.

He wants to start from scratch with DirecTV, all new gear, satellite based. I'm trying to come up with an idea if it's even doable. Which brings me to the questions:

With the new Genie 2 (or whatever the latest and greatest is from DirecTV) how many boxes can be supported? Actual TV's with boxes? Simultaneous streams? On wires? On wireless?

Thanks in advance for your help.

I'm Not an engineer, but I play one on TV.
My handle is Tweety but I have nothing to do with the organization of similar name. I just had a really big head as a child so folks called me tweety bird.
