Anti-lock braking systems have been available for decades in the US. But only have been a standard feature when it became law to require stability control in the 2013(14?) model years. Technically, according to the law, ABS itself is not required. However in order to have stability control, physics dictates that the car needs ABS. As stability control uses the functions of ABS.

And despite the fact most countries require air bags... Australia is not one of them. According to this thread... [Link: quora.com]

A 2016 model Land Rover had no air bags.
