Time marches on and products and technology improve.
We are now good to 10 meters (passive) with 4 x 6 Gbps Channel (taking you into the beginnings of 2.1).
My quick response is also the Apple TV.
#1: Update to the latest firmware 12.1.2 (I think), this removes the biggest problem that we saw which was the 4:4:4 option when selecting HDR (there is no content above 4:2:0).
#2: Dolby Vision, yest the Sony A8 is quite capable of supporting DV, but which profile is being sent? This is a problem because the 2 profile are not compatibile and displays are not accepting of both (LG is one and Sony is the other).
