But you are right, there are some that were wrongly accused.These cases consist of almost entirely of false eyewitness testimony in a court of law. In this day, DNA, video , audio, GPS tracking, etc. are the evidence needed.
In most states even after DNA evidence exonerates a prisoner they are held in jail and in some cases forced to sign "i wont sue you" documents before being released.
Police officers frequently falsify evidence and beat people into confessing to crimes they did not commit.
