I don't visit here often, but this intrigued me. I think there might be a way to get to the end result you want, but I'm having trouble understanding what that is.
As I see it, you can't jump to a device without jumping to a page, because a page has to appear on the screen, and the software makes you choose which page you want to appear. So, while you are indeed forced to jump to a page, that's only because you can't jump to a device with just random choice of which page comes up.
What's the net result you're trying to get?
