You're correct IF the gear is visible and not in the rack but it's like putting a band-aid on. I love it when I see AVRs and cable boxes with multiple IR bugs on each.

With a CP3 and iPad my guess would be that it wasn't done in SB. SB was mainly designed for the adagio products which haven't been available for a couple years now.
