It is not at all what you asked for, but look into TouchControl -- if you have an iPhone/iPad. The development platform is free, the iPhone/iPad run time is inexpensive. The user interface can be as slick as anything you have seen or can imagine.

Yes, I miss the Pronto hard buttons, but since I can develop much richer and faster user interfaces, I would not go back to Pronto. (Of course, if Pronto had continued its development, we would not be having this conversation because later Pronto's could have used faster processors and richer graphics too)

I'm not familiar with Kodi, but if it can be controlled through a browser link to a web interface, you can specify this as the URL for an HTML button. Otherwise you can recycle your ProntoScript as you recreate the buttons.
