Yeah I guess usually your elections are only about 45 days max. Ours practically are non stop!!!

they are completely different beasts. In the US you have two parties and a president that is voted for directly. This makes for a very long process since each party (unless the same leader is kept)has a leadership race just before the election as well as VP nominations

Here the parties exist "all the time" (i.e. Harper was the leader of the conservatives for over a decade and Prime minister, Trudeau was the leader of the Liberals more or less since just after the last elections (2008), Mulcair was leader of NDP since Layton left the job -health- in 2012 and leader of the opposition..... So elections are just that and, at least in theory but not in practice, the leader is not all that important (i.e. when we go to vote we vote for a local candidate who obviously will choose his political party leader as prime minister.

The big corporations run our elections for the most part. Its almost like South America... payola baby!

unfortunately that is mostly true everywhere, there are laws against it here (i.e. max donations...) but even then they are easily contravened and circumvented.

Is Trudueau an all right guy!?

his dad was (prime minister in the 70's 80's) and he was mostly good, we will need to wait and see what king of job he does.
