I was experiencing intermittent problems where an MRF-350 was not receiving RF signals from an MX-980 so I moved the RFX-250 around. Yesterday it lost all communication.

I changed the MRF-350 base station RF ID # to 0, saw no flashing RF light on the RFX-250 or the MRF-350.

Today I brought the RXF-250 and MRF-350 into the entertainment room and tried again with dimmer on at 50%, MRF-350 base station RF ID # to 0 and had the same results - nothing.

I assumed the MX-980 lost its RF sending ability (whatever that is called), because it worked with an STB using IR.

However, I noticed the TV was is responding to RF.

Has anyone had a similar experience or any idea what might have gotten gunked up?

EDIT: Is it common for the RFX-250 and MRF-350 to go bad? If so, how would I determine which may have?
