I am programming an MX-5000. Since it does not have a numeric keypad I must display a numeric keypad to allow direct channel entry. My problem is that I want to find a way to remove the keypad when the user is finished. When channels are entered the STB will automatically change channels if no key is pressed within 2 seconds after the last number key is pressed. I would like to set up a way of knowing that the 2 seconds have elapsed and automatically switch the screen back. This would allow the user to enter channel numbers in a manner they are already accustomed to. I have considered requiring the user to press the ENTER key at the end but this is not they way they normally do it.

If you have solved a similar issue on an MX-980, I would be interested in your solution. I have discovered that the MX-5000 programming is very similar to the MX-980. The biggest difference is the use of the graphics.
