Hi everyone

Im am using IR over IP when abroad to change channels when I watch my UKTV. I have tried using the Keene Kira unit but seem to get delays of upto 15 seconds when sending IR commands.

Is latency an issue with IR over IP?

Admittedly we are sending from Utah, USA to the UK, but having used the slingbox which comes with an ir blaster for changing TV channels the delay on the slingbox is far shorter than on the Kira. The slingbox takes only 5-6seconds which Im more than happy with but the quality of the slingbox is pretty awful. The weird thing is when I watch through a streaming server and the slingbox side by side, the streaming server video is delivered quicker than the slingbox but if i change channels using the ir-blaster on the slingbox the commands appear later on the streaming server. Its giving me a headache trying to work it out.

Have been thinking of investing in the irtrans unit but as these are significantly more expensive I was hoping I could get feedback from anyone who has used them or any other similar product that may offer a solution.

Any ideas, feedback or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
