Thanks to berrick I finally solved the issue

Took me a lot of time finding out what's going on here; this is how I removed the timers:
-Make a copy of the pcf
-Rename it to zip
-Open it in Winrar "all files"
-Click COMMENTS icon and copy the 2 lines
-Unzip to a folder
-Open configedit.xml in an xml editor (I used the free foxe xml editor
-Delete user timers
-Save xml
-Rezip xml plus the Bitmaps folder to a zip file
-Open zip in Winrar (not all zippers support "comments")
-Click COMMENTS
-Paste the 2 lones
-Save zip
-Rename to pcf
-Done
