Since the the lid has been removed from this COFFIN of a thread & in case someone actually cares, here is an answer.

The serial Connection cable from NAD has electronics built into it. It is NOT a case of working out which pin goes where.
The cable is used to program all of the NAD HTR / M remotes. Even with the cost of the cable this is still the cheapest remote with PC programming ability.
