I believe that the S7000 will not play DTS movie DVDs. From what I understand, it is not a compatibility problem with the DTS bit stream since DTS compatible players simply pass the DTS bit stream un-modified to an external DTS decoder, but the problem is the player actually recognizing that the DTS bit stream exists on the disk. Each different audio encoding has a identifier code, if the player doesn't know the DTS identifier code it won't look at the audio data. I may not have the facts exactly right, but it goes something like that.

There should be no problem playing DTS encoded audio CDs with your 7000, as any CD player is suppose to be able to. Though I have not tried this myself.

MSB was rumour to be working on a DTS upgrade for the 7000, but there no sign of it on their web site: http://www.msbtech.com/

You might be best to see if you can trade in your 7000 for a 7700.

An interesting site for the 7000 is [Link: brouhaha.com]
