The QSE-IO also has some more advanced functionality called "Shade Output Mode". In this you can utilize your shade columns on the GRAFIK Eye QS to control the corresponding outputs on the QSE-IO. So for instance you can link output 1 on the QSE-IO to Shade Column 1 Open button on the GRAFIK Eye QS.

This, unfortunately, is not explained in the manual, but if you call Lutron's Tech Support (which is 24 hours) they can walk you through the steps. This functionality is used many times to interface the GRAFIK Eye with non-Lutron shades.
