I guess the point is moot, since DIVX is now dead (hooray), but I'll address it anyway. DIVX would not solve the "falling asleep" problem completely. Once I start the movie, I would have only 48 hours to watch it. Besides, I can rent them for .99, and in Widescreen, the way I MUST see a movie.
DIVX was expensive, poor quality, and a rip-off.
