How to find home automation vendors, demos and products at CES 2012, including energy management, lighting control, remote monitoring, whole-house control and more.

The International Consumer Electronics Show once was a hotbed for home automation, packed with top brands and start-ups alike. These days, though, it’s harder to find automated lights, smart thermostats, and whole-house solutions.

If you’re in the market for such technologies, though, here’s where you can find them on the CES 2012 show floor and elsewhere.



For years, the NextGen Home stood in parking lot of the Las Vegas Convention Center (LVCC), promoting such automation systems as Life-Ware (where?) as well as more established brands.

This year the home is parked in the South Hall of the convention center and features an “Energy Miser” theme. Look for such energy-saving solutions as Decra roofing, Icynene insulation, Mitten vinyl siding and Seisco tankless water heaters.
