My problem is that the remote will NOT control the PS3. I have the Radio Shack USB to PS2 adapter plugged into the first USB port on the front of the PS3, the Sony IR Receiver is plugged into the adapter, and the Sony Remote will not function.

Am I doing something wrong? I thought I needed to load the disc to make the PS3 recognize the IR remote/receiver.

Is there a problem since the remote is from Hong Kong - maybe designed for a PAL PS3, not an NTSC version??
