5 Installer-Recommended Home Theater Systems

CE pros suggest hypothetical systems based on various budgets.

Everyone’s had the old, “if I hit the lottery” daydream. Most of those lottery dreams probably include spending winnings on goodies like exotic cars, multiple homes or even paying off a mounting debt load. It’s also safe to say that there are a lot of people who have dreamed of owning a killer home theater system.

Thankfully, a great home theater system isn’t as far out of reach as one might think. There’s lots of excellent gear out there at price points that would also surprise those wondering if this dream could be fulfilled without winning Mega Millions. Part of an installer’s job is to talk with clients about how to make that dream a reality, especially by discussing budget limitations and what products can optimize their investment.



We asked some CE pros for some suggestions in assembling five hypothetical systems at five price points that range from entry level to state-of-the-art.

‘Bang for the Buck’ System
When someone contemplates a quality home theater system there are more options available than one might think. According to Willie Hollingsworth, senior systems designer for Newton, Mass.-based Audio Video Design, a system even with a budget of around $5,000 offers solid performance and an upgrade path.
