You have non-tech users and expect them to use an iphone app to control a home theater setup with a dongle that has to be pointed at the equipment? I don't think that's the way to go. Invest in a remote that has clearly labeled buttons and more hard buttons that will translate to less page flips. URC has a bunch of remotes that may fit the bill. You can start with the MX-450, 900, 880 or 980 depending on your budget.
