I got a toshiba sd 3109 dvd player in july or so. I have had problems with certain movies (such as i still know what you did last summer) but other i havent (most rented). The problem is the picture gets darker and lighter, even when the movie is paused. The connection is rca cables, i dont have a s video compatible tv yet. I really didnt think much of the problem because i have wiring problems in my apartment and I figured the faulty picture was do to the environment. Then one of my friends just purchased the same dvd player and experienced the same problem. I was wondering: is this normal? is there any way to correct this (other then turning the brightness WAY down)? Will this happen with an s video? I appreciate any help you can offer.
