just got a pronto 6000 and trying to ease my way into using it.
Downloaded a ccf to use as a baseline and been trying to tweak the bmps to meet my needs (changing labels and such to match my equipment).

Any hints on how to modify bmps for ProntoEdit? Any approaches to reusing downloaded ccfs and modifying to particular needs? It appears that most people create custom bmps that include the lables vs. using prontoEdit to affix labels. There are also a lot of labels on 'panels' below the buttons - really cool but how do I edit (assuming I need to edit the bmp itself).

Only editor I have is Photoshop. After doing my first edit and trying to load into ProntoEdit, I got a mesage from ProntoEdit saying it has to be an 8 bit image. Photoshop wont let me save an 8 bit bmp (there is a radio selection that lists 8 bit, but it is greyed out and after a couple hours of googling, cant find a way to get it to work).

Any open source (i.e. free) edit tools to do this 8 bit task - or does anybody know of how to get Photoshop to output 8 bit?

Thanks!
