WNYO applied to install a less directional antenna on, 7/24/2009 and the FCC accepted the application, but has not ruled on it as of yet. It could be the FCC is very backlog with applications. It could also have to do with the new ruling of the FCC to share TV broadcast spectrum with wireless broadband providers, rummer is the FCC plans to repack the TV band to once again auction off more spectrum. Perhaps WNYO on 49 sits in that spectrum, or perhaps not, but it could be another factor in why the application has been sitting so long. Here is a good search engine for the FCC.
