Inside John Mayer’s L.A. Home
By Jason Knott
House of 7-time Grammy winner has some technology issues, including floor-to-ceiling windows that produce ambient light and cable management and viewing distance issues.

Seven-time Grammy winner John Mayer is selling his Los Angeles-area home, and it appears to be a flat-panel haven.

But it needs some help technology-wise.

There aren't any Fender Stratocasters laying around, but the home does sport a grand piano in the spacious living room. Mayer must certainly love watching TV, because there are least four large flat panels in the four-bedroom home, which was built in 1974.

The 3,600-square-foot home is located in the posh Pacific Palisades area on the west side of L.A. In the homes real estate listing, it says the fourth bedroom is a "perfect" conversion for a separate media room.

2-Seat Media Area
The high ceilings and extremely large windows look like they made for some challenging positions of the media. For example, the living room boasts floor to ceiling windows, including glass directly over the fireplace. That feature is exactly why it would be impractical to mount a flat panel above the fireplace.

The windows do not have blackout shades but only sheer curtains. So, instead, a flat panel and two-seat viewing area is positioned opposite the window on the other side of the room.
