to my DVD recorder. Works all the time, and I can then
still record from the DirecTV box or any other video source

Can this be used to copy a DVD? I was trying to show a client how to record on his DVD recorder and all we had was DVDs. The satellite wasn't in yet and there was no VCR. I ended up getting a $5.99 reissue of two movies from 1948.
