I have actually read the thread on decoding the pronto hex format and the NEC1 protocol. I'm a bits-n-bytes kinda guy. However, that knowledge is mostly useless to me as I have other fish to fry, and Jason's very helpful database solved the problem so I don't have to sit and decode all those hex codes :). But thank you for the pointers on learning, to wait for the remote and not the software. I did notice that if I hold down the button while learning (until the pronto beeps) that I get extremely long hex codes. About 4 or 5 times the length of the ones in Jason's database.
But the actual problem posted here was solved and I thank you gentlemen very much for your time and assistance, it is greatly appreciated. I really do love forums where people are so helpful and polite.
