I have [Link: hardwarezone.com.au] this remote. I also have another IR receiver I got off Ebay, it has no label on it. The bottom says OVU4003/00 which comes up as a Phillips, or at least the IR that comes with the Phillips MCE remotes. I can't find the info on my remote weather it's an RC6 one or not. Any ways, I'm trying to get it working in XBMC. With the Phillips receiver the LED lights up when I press a button on the remote. But it's not doing anything on my PC. In Eventghost (with MCE plugin added) it's not registering the buttons pressed. I bought it used so I'm not 100% sure it even works, and if it does maybe it's not compatible with my remote? I also tried my Veris IR, which apparently isn't supported in Eventghost at all. I can't get it to pick up any buttons being pressed. In the iMon program it works set up as an MCE remote, well mostly. There are about 6 buttons on it which iMon Manager don't picked up when pressed. I'm guessing it's because the built in profile is for the standard MCE remote and this HP one deviates from that a bit.

Aside from a few buttons not being assignable in iMon, I also can't set up scripts like in Eventghost. But at this point I would just be happy to get all the buttons working and leave it at that. I Googled this and apparently the iMon IR is pretty crummy and doesn't have much support outside of the iMon Manager program. What I'm wondering, is there a program that I can use to see if the Phillips receiver is in fact functional. When I plug it in Windows 7 (64 bit) detects it and like I said I press the button and the LED comes on, so it's working, at least some what.

I'm hoping somebody here has experience with this remote and can help me out. I know it's not exactly a popular or even easy to find remote, but it's almost perfect for what I'm looking for.
