Have installed PEP2 on Windows 7 32bit and 64bit with no problems, it seems to work fine if your hardware is on the HCL , otherwise just dont try it, unless you have a lot of time to spare.
I have seen laptops with the "Designed for Windows 7" sticker on them and these work ok, but other that have the "Windows 7 Compilant" dont always work.
Im guessing its a hardware issue you have , check if it is on the HCL on the windows website.
