About Me:I was into audio since 1986 ( I was 13) when I put together my first home stereo, and from there on I was always doing all my friends car systems. I have been in the home and car audio business since 1991 when I got my first job right after high school at a local shop. Within two years at the shop I moved up the car audio manager, but still did all the home installs. I used to compete in IASCA from 1994-1998, then competed in DB drag racing until 2000. Then I started doing custom home installs as a subcontractor. From Creston, to prontos, from in-walls to my own personally designed subwoofer enclosures. I specialize in custom home theaters, central audio, gate control, safe rooms and home automation. I also do the whole home camera, phone, cable, alarm, and satellite systems.

My main hobbies include, my Toyota Supras, golf, and of course audio.

I currently am using a TSU2000 for my home theater remote. I am using a Yamaha RXV2095 as a preamp ( always loved the warm Yamaha processor sound), using adcom amps to run my Polk audio RT16s ( fronts L/R) bi amped with the tweeters being fed by one of my adcom GFA2537L, and the midbasses off of a GFA555. I am using a CS400 Polk for my center channel which is running off of a bridged pair from the two left over channels from that GFA2535L. For rears I am using two pairs of the Polk audio LS F/X running off of my other adcom GFA2535L. I am using a bunch of audio control EQs and Richter scale crossovers to tune my system. The RT16s tweeters are EQed with their own audio control TEN, as well as another of the center and one more for the rears. For the RT16s midbasses I picked an audio control C101 EQ for its RTA built in. For subwoofers I now just use two Polk audio PSW200s in clear lexan. These are beautiful units for my room being a modern design as it is. I used to run a custom ported enclosure I created using two Soundstream SPL15s which was tuned all the way down to 16 hertz. I ran those two dual voice coil subs @ 2 ohms to a Yamaha MX1. She was beastly without a doubt. At that time I did use the PSW200s as "woofers" using another Richter scale. I sold a few parts out of that sub system when I have two friends begging me. One wanted the subs and another wanted that MX1. To this day I regret selling that system, but oh well. The PSW200s do very well for my size room ( its only 14x18 haha). I am using a lot of sources, and I an not getting into that, heh.

Now I would bet some people would think, amplifier-wise, this is a mismatched system, but I did not have to do a lot of tuning to get this to sound amazing. I spent so much free time at the shop listening to every speaker, with a ton of media and knew what I wanted in a speaker. In stereo mode my imaging is extremely accurate and live. Not harsh, and not fatiguing. I tuned my home theater as a stereo system first, focusing on image, then worked on the center, and the rears all as separate system. Of course all speakers were RTAed one at a time, then double checked running stereo pairs at the same time to watch for any phase problems. I did this system back in 1997 then added a few of the newer items here and there.

All of my equipment was purchase through the shop ( great deals), and although Polk is so very common place nowadays, I really love these speakers. I will upgrade something sooner or later, but I am not looking for any changes currently...... other than changing to a plasma:)
