New 55 and 61 inch rear projection TVs
Sharp's latest 55" 55R-WP5H and 61" 61R-WP5H rear projection HDTV monitors can display all HDTV signals in 1080i resolution. In addition, they incorporate Sharp's DDFC-1080 technology to upconvert 480i analog signals to 1080i, with full 3:2 pulldown. Both include dual HD component video inputs and one RGB-HD input. With Sharp's "Twin-1080" circuitry, two different programs in any format can be shown side-by-side in full 1080i resolution. Other features include a 10-bit 3D-Y/C comb filter, velocity scan modulation, 24-watt audio systems and a V-Chip. The 55R-WP5H is available for $3499, while the 61R-WP5H is available for $3999.

1-bit technology applied to home theater systems
Sharp is expanding their 1-bit digital audio product line into the home theater market with the introduction of the SD-AT100, an ultra-compact entertainment system with a built-in DVD player, packaged with a six speaker system. It features both Dolby Digital and DTS decoding, 25 watts per channels amplification, an AM/FM tuner and Sharp's 1-bit technology which samples sound at 2.8MHz - 64 times faster than a CD. A prototype was shown at CEDIA, the final version will be available in December at an undisclosed price.
