New DVD mega changer
The majority of Kenwood's new components for this year were released earlier, after CES but before CEDIA. This includes the Kenwood Sovereign DV-5900M 400+3 DVD changer. Compatible with DVD Video, DVD Audio, CD, VCD and MP3 formats, plus CD-R and CD-RW media, the DV-5900M is a truly versatile jukebox. It includes Kenwood's 24-bit DRIVE II distortion reduction circuitry, 192kHz 24-bit D/A converters and Dolby Digital plus DTS decoding. Featuring an RS-232 port and progressive scan output with Faroudja DCDi video enhancement technology and 3:2/2:2 pulldown, the changer is capable of daisy chaining with up to two other units for up to 1,200 disc storage. The system can be further connected to the Kenwood Sovereign Entré entertainment hub for a complete internet-linked listing of all CDs and DVDs with cover artwork, title, track artist and genre information.

Designed especially for those who rent discs, the DV-5900M includes a special 3-disc section known as "The Rental Zone", for quick swapping of "temporary" discs. In addition, the player can automatically flip over dual-sided discs for the utmost in convenience. The price for the DV-5900M is $1,800 USD. A 5-disc changer model with similar features, known as the DV-5700M, is also available for $1,200. Both units are shipping now.
