RM-VL900 review: First, I hope everyone had a great weekend! Today, as promised, you’ll find a complete review for the brand new Sony RM-VL900 remote control. The VL900 is an 8-device remote with full learning capabilities on every key, macros and a lot more. It features an all-button design and many functions similar to the RM-AV2100, but at a significantly lower price point. Our review is full of photographs and also includes complete programming instructions and a brand code table if you happen to lose the included documentation. Don’t miss it!

Speaking of the RM-AV2100, Remote Central’s early review of the RM-AV2100 from February has now been updated with new information and photographs. Like the VL900, you’ll also find a complete programming guide and code table added. If you haven’t seen the AV2100 or may have missed our review you’ll want to check this out. The AV2100 is available now in many stores (apparently for as little as $129 or less) and will be available at other establishments shortly. In addition, the VL900 should also now be making an appearance at a store near you.

DVD review: I’ve added a new DVD review for the Sean Connery & Catherine Zeta-Jones suspense flick, Entrapment. The Special Edition disc includes a brand new anamorphic transfer, director’s commentary, deleted scenes and a lot more.

Pronto CCF files: No weekly update is complete without a list of all the new Pronto files that have been uploaded! First, complete system configurations from Alan Palmer, Brent McInnes, Dustin Reinsmith, Scott Turner, Stefan Schorn and Stephen Morris are now online and ready for download.

Next, you’ll find complete component codes to the NAD C340 amplifier from Philip Rundle, Marantz VP8000 projector, DV4000 DVD player and SR-18 receiver from Taft Stricklin, plus codes for Xantech’s ZPR68 preamp, RS41AV switcher, CC62 relay module and SmartPad3 keypads from Tony Golden. Configurations for Living Control’s MRS and Event! multi-room systems have been uploaded by Justin Lawrence, Mitsubishi DD-3000 DVD player by John Kell, Sherwood AVP-9080R preamplifier by Scott Kriefall and, finally, a Toshiba SD-4109X DVD changer by Bill Katz and CN36V51 television by Tony Schreiber. Remember, if you’ve got a component not already online you may be able to help others by uploading it!

An updated version of a Pronto utility aptly titled ProntoUtil has been sent over from the author, Geoffrey Reynolds. ProntoUtil is used to generate completely clean infrared codes once given the format of a device’s code. Finally, if you’re looking for an answer to a nagging pronto problem or question, the first place you should check is our Unofficial Pronto FAQ. Furthering the complete redesign from a week or so ago, the FAQ has again been updated with a few new questions and, er, other fixes kindly pointed out by a Remote Central regular (thanks Tom Held!).
