ProntoProEdit Exclusive! Although the physical Philips ProntoPro TSU6000 remote is still a few weeks away from release, Philips has already provided me with a final copy of ProntoProEdit v3.2.0 to make public on Remote Central. Our complete review of the ProntoPro will, of course, provide an in-depth look at all aspects of ProntoProEdit, so for today's news update I'll just cover a few of the basics that have been of greatest concern to many forum posters.

  • 6144kb of free memory. Which should be plenty of room to create huge, colorful configurations!

  • All four lower hard buttons are customizable. When no functions are assigned, the outer left and right buttons pick up the "Scroll" features, but for all other cases each button can have a custom function and label.

  • Compatible with older Pronto CCF files. ProntoProEdit is compatible with all existing Pronto, RC5000 Setup and RAVedit configurations. You are even given the option to change the four existing grayshades to new colors.

  • New files are backwards compatible. Newly created color configurations can be saved in ProntoEditPro as the original black & white format. Throughout this page you can see examples from the three default templates Philips includes.

  • Incorporates all new features as seen in RAVedit, such as multiple gallery support, changing of all instances of a bitmap, along with numerous bug fixes.

  • Fully functional emulator. Great to give you an advanced look at just how the ProntoPro TSU6000 will operate!

I should be receiving one of these to review within the next few weeks. But for now, if you're interested in Philips' new remote, download a copy of ProntoProEdit. Check it out, try the emulator – you could even get a head start on your system configuration! We've also been provided with a copy of the ProntoPro's new user manual, which is available to download from the same page.

As with RAVedit, ProntoProEdit uses the new Windows registry method of configuration, so you'll find yet another new version of my Pronto.ini Workshop program in the Utilities section of the file archive. The Unofficial Philips Pronto FAQ has also been updated to v1.08, with new information on the ProntoPro.
