After many many years of repairing and using two Logitech 880's I need to replace them.

What remote would you recommend that works similar to the 880?

All the harmony remotes use the same software and have mostly the same functionality.

The remotes with the hub add phone/tablet support and ip/bluetooth capabilities.

When you say you want something that works similar to the 880 what are you referring to? Are there any specific features of the 880 you like?

The main feature is the ease of operation by the wife. If I could get a remote that had very similar buttons it would be a plus. I don't care about the hub with phone/tablet support or ip/bluetooth capabilities. We sit about 12' away from all of the equipment.
I have three multi-function (activities) on my current remote which are "Watch PVR", "Watch TV" and "Watch Movie". It would have to operate a Directv Genie receiver, an Onkyo A/V receiver, a Sony HDTV and a Panasonic Bluray player.

Pretty much any Harmony remote should meet those criteria although the button layouts have changed over the years. From an ease of transition perspective sticking with Harmony will make your life easier.

If you don't mind the small/limited screen the 650/665 are a good value.

The discontinued ultimate often sells for cheap but many people dislike the placement of the controls at the top.

The harmony 950 is nice but not cheap.

None of them are particularly durable.

The only con I can say about the 650 is that it is not rechargeable.
